The long-term aspiration of Cantare sull'Organo is to the construction of a portable organ
with open wooden pipes, the so-called organo di legno, based on the model of the organ
built by an anonymous organ builder (ca. 1580) in the Silver Chapel in Innsbruck, Austria.
The nature of this type of instrument, which ideally suits our performance purpose,
was praised by various authors of the 16th and 17th centuries with characteristics
such as "dolce" and "soave", i.e. "sweet" and "delicate", and was used by famous
composers like Emilio de' Cavalieri and Claudio Monteverdi, among others, in their performances.
The principal design of our organ will consist of a range of four octaves C-c3
with two stops, namely Principale 8' and Flauto in Ottava.

Das langfristige Bestreben von Cantare sull‘Organo ist der Bau einer tragbaren Orgel
mit offenen Holzpfeifen, der so genannten organo di legno, nach dem Vorbild der Orgel
eines anonymen Orgelbauers (ca. 1580) in der Silbernen Kapelle in Innsbruck, Österreich.
Die Beschaffenheit eines solchen Instruments, das unserem Aufführungszweck ideal entspricht,
wurde von verschiedenen Autoren des 16. und 17. Jahrhuderts mit Eigenschaften wie „dolce“
und „soave“, also „süß“ und „zart“, gepriesen und unter anderem von berühmten Komponisten
wie Emilio de‘ Cavalieri und Claudio Monteverdi bei ihren Aufführungen verwendet.
Das Grundkonzept unserer Orgel wird einen Umfang von vier Oktaven C-c3 mit zwei Registern, nämlich Principale 8' und Flauto in Ottava, haben.
Die Kosten für die Konstruktion der Orgel belaufen sich voraussichtlich auf 30.000 Euro.
